4 week block of gentle yoga classes to explore a gentle physical yoga practice incorporating our breath to support our movement.
Suitable if you are new to yoga, returning to yoga, or looking for a gentle practice .
Yoga (meaning union) unites the mind, body, and soul by looking inward and creating stillness, easing tension in the body and mind.
In our yoga practice we use the physical body to connect breath (pranayama) and posture (asana).
Firstly, you do not need to be able to touch your toes, and create super shapes to join us for yoga. βI canβt touch my toesβ is the most common thing that people say to me. If you can, you are welcome, and also if you canβt, you are welcome. Each week we focus on a specific yogic principle, area or theme that we will bring our awareness to during our sessions. Over time, this helps us to build a grounded yoga practice, and an understanding and appreciation of the benefits of Yoga from within. Our practice is mindful movement connecting pranayama (breath), to the asana (pose). We work without judgement of our bodies, recognising our practice may feel, and be different each time we show up on our mats. Yoga allows us that space and time away from our busy lives off the mat, to bring a deeper awareness to the mind and body. Each of us has our own unique body that supports us on our yoga journey, so with that in mind we can expect any shapes we create may be experienced differently. We complete our practice with a guided relaxation to increase awareness and mindfulness of the breath and body. βyoga chitti vritti nirodaβ Yoga is the cessation of movement in the consciousness Yoga is the calming of the movements or fluctuations of the mind
Class places must be pre-booked.
Spaces can be reserved on a monthly basis in advance with non-refundable pre -payment.
Monthly booking price is Β£6 per session = a typical 4 week month Β£24
If there is availability, individual sessions can be booked for Β£8 per session.
Please wear something comfortable and bring along a yoga mat if you have one. You may wish to bring a drink for your practice, and blanket for relaxation.
